Try Handbells This Summer!
Summer bell choir is open to anyone who ever wanted to try ringing handbells, and to seasoned ringers as well. All ages are welcome. We will rehearse at 10:00 a.m. June 8, 15, and 22, and ring at the 11:00 a.m. service on June 29. If you are interested, please click here to contact Beth Ann.
During the program year, Westminster Church has six handbell choirs that rehearse and perform from September through May. Each handbell choir participates in worship approximately three times per semester.
BELL CHOIRS FOR ADULTS
Westminster Chimes – This advanced adult bell choir, directed by Randy Buikema, rehearses Thursday at 5:45 p.m.  during the program year. For more information, e-mail Randy.

BELL CHOIRS FOR YOUTH
Bells of Hope, Rhapsody Ringers and Genesis Ringers, Chapel Bells – These four bell choirs, for youth in grades 5-12, are directed by Beth Ann Edwards. Age and grade groupings change from year to year. Rehearsal times vary. For more information, e-mail Beth Ann.
Introduction to Bells – Children in grades 3 & 4 participate in this bell choir, directed by Heather Blue. Rehearsals are held Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. This is a training choir and does not perform in worship. For more information, e-mail Randy.
OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
Handbell ensembles are presented with opportunities to perform at other venues in Des Moines and while traveling. Additionally, clinicians and composers are periodically invited to Westminster to work with the choirs.
