Liszt’s Missa Choralis and Fauré’s Requiem
Performed by the Westminster Chorale and orchestra
Sunday, April 25, 3:00 p.m.
The Westminster Fine Arts Series will present the Westminster Chorale in Concert on Sunday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The performance will feature two deeply emotive works: Franz Liszt’s Missa Choralis and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. The concert is free of charge, and childcare will be provided.
Based on Gregorian chant, Liszt’s reverent Missa Choralis is subtle, melodic and filled with rich, chromatic harmonies. The mass will be complemented by Fauré’s meditative Requiem, which is justly remembered as one of the most beautiful choral works of the 19th century. The Westminster Orchestra will join the Chorale to perform the requiem.
Join us for an afternoon of thought-provoking, meditative music.
