Opportunities for Children
We believe that children enhance the work and worship of Westminster Church. We invite our youngest members to fully participate in the life of our congregation.
KidPOWER worship for children & youth 
While the grown-ups are worshiping in the Sanctuary, children are raising the roof of the Chapel in their own worship time called KidPOWER! Kids (kindergarten and up) energizes their faith through high energy music, awesome Bible stories, and fun activities that will make them want to come back for more! Invite your friends! This worship program for kids meets every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month, when families are encouraged to worship together in the Sanctuary and share the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
From September to April, Westminster is a lively place on Wednesdays! The mid-week gathering is an evening of food, fun, music, and learning for both children and adults. For more information, click here.
Sunday school classes for Westminster youngest focus on the love of God for all God's children. From September through May, students in kindergarten through fifth grade enjoy a faith-filled voyage each Sunday, studying the life and teachings of Jesus and learning what God has in store for them.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School for 2010 was held June 21-25! Children age 3 through grade 6 (2010-11) had great fun on a "High Seas Expedition!" On Thursday evening, June 24, a "SAILabration" was held and children shared their VBS songs and experiences with parents and friends. DVDs of the SAILabration are available for a cost of just $5. This unique day camp offers youth entering grades three through eight the opportunity to immerse themselves in the arts for one delightful week each summer. In 2010, CACTUS will be held July 26-30 and August 1... click here for more information.
Westminster Preschool and Morning Out Program provides a warm and nurturing environment where young children discover the joy of learning.
WESTMINSTER LIBRARY
The Westminster Library, located on the lower level of the church, contains hundreds of books especially designed for pre-schoolers (E books) and elementary-age children (J books). Come in when ever the church is open and read, browse or check out materials.
FAMILIES OF FAITH
This group for parents of children from birth through high school meets Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. The group provides parenting support, study, meaningful fellowship, and just plain fun! Additional outside activities are also planned periodically.
