Breaking the Cycle
But when his [Joseph's] brothers saw that their father [Jacob] loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him. (Genesis 37:4)

Humble Reconciliation
He [Jacob] himself went on ahead of them, bowing himself to the ground seven times, until he came near his brother.
But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept. (Genesis 33:3-4)

Our Own Wrestling Match
Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he struck him on the hip socket; and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. Then he said, “Let me go, for the day is breaking.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go, unless you bless me.” (Genesis 32:24-26)

A Way Forward with Chronic Pain
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. (1 Peter 5:10)

It Just Doesn't Matter
"Isaac had possessions of flocks and herds, and a great household, so that the Philistines envied him." "And King Abimelech said to Isaac, 'Go away from us; you have become too powerful for us.'" (Genesis 26:14 & 16)

Responding Faithfully in Horrific Times

Revelation Ain’t Just the Last Book in the Bible
And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 16:17)

The Power of Looking Up
Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight. But even the hairs on your head are all counted. (Luke 12:6-7)

Contradictions Doesn’t Diminish the Bible

Decently and In Order

(1 Corinthians 14:40)

The Sacredness of Time
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

Advent theme: Waiting
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psa. 27:14)

Always Training
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

Part of Something Bigger
“As for yourself, you shall go to your ancestors in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. And they shall come back here in the fourth generation; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.” (Genesis 15:15)

The Christmas Challenge

The Danger Within
“Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.’” (Genesis 11:4)
